Hey! We’re Hannah and Lewis, the slightly chaotic but totally passionate pair behind Idlewild Glassworks! We are largely self-taught, and dove into stained glass during lockdown (because why not pick up an extremely intricate and time-consuming hobby in the middle of a pandemic?). Little did we know it would become our full-time joy!

The Sun
Our logo — a radiant sun with a charming face and bold, expressive eyebrows — draws inspiration from both Persian miniatures (13th-17th century Persia) and traditional stained glass linework. The delicate features and arched brows reflect the subtle elegance of women depicted in Persian art, while the flowing lines embody classic stained glass design. This sun also celebrates the essential role of sunlight in our craft, with each piece coming to life when touched by light!
